Our History

AEI Base Camp was born from a vision to use wilderness adventure as a venue for connecting people to God. Owners and founders, Tim and Linda Kempfe saw their dream become a reality when they purchased their first tract of Taylor Park property in 1984.

From that time, AEI Base Camp has evolved to become a place, used by God, for people to grow spiritually, physically and mentally. Currently, AEI Base Camp is a 1,500 acre wilderness facility that can comfortably accommodate 160+ people.

Base Camp is used in the summer as a Christian wilderness adventure camp and in the fall as a ministry to sportsmen and women.

Our Passion

AEI Base Camp desires to give everyone a safe opportunity to experience God and grow in their relationship with Him through wilderness adventures.

We do this by reflecting Jesus Christ in all that we do and demonstrating His compassion, grace, understanding, forgiveness, leadership, and unconditional love.

Faith Statement

AEI Base Camp is a privately owned, interdenominational effort to share the love of Christ with all people of every background. “…There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace though the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:22-24)

The staff at AEI Base Camp are hired from all denominational backgrounds that hold close to their hearts the most basic tenants of Christianity. “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)

Differences in denominational doctrine have been set aside for the sake of our calling. The teaching that campers receive while at Base Camp will follow the guidelines of basic truth that come from the Holy Bible.
